Fluence Energy GmbH and LEAG Clean Power GmbH have commenced construction on the Heinersbrück GridBattery, a 400 MWh energy storage project in Germany. This installation will co-locate with wind and solar generation assets on regenerated former mining land and is part of efforts to bolster Germany's energy transition. The project aims to enhance the reliability of energy supply and alleviate grid pressure. This development marks the second collaborative project between Fluence and LEAG Clean Power, with both companies also working on the GigaBattery Jänschwalde 1000 system in the Lusatia region. These initiatives are contributing to the transformation of former industrial sites into hubs for renewable energy generation and storage, supporting Germany's transition away from coal.
