Latest U.S. tariff threats on EU cars are a "call to keep moving forward", says French Minister

- French trade minister Nicolas Forissier said on Wednesday that he saw the latest U.S. tariff threats on European Union cars as "a call to keep moving forward" on the implementation of trade agreements reached so far.

Forissier made the comments at a closing press conference following a Group of Seven trade ministers meeting in Paris.

The meeting comes ahead of the main G7 summit in mid-June and after an announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump that he would raise tariffs on cars from the European Union to 25% from 15%.
