EUROPE BEFORE THE BELL: PEACE TALKS SUFFER ANOTHER HICCUP
European equity futures are mixed on Monday although oil prices are higher after U.S. President Trump called Iran's response to a U.S. peace proposal "TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE".
Brent LCOc1 and WTI CLc1 crude futures are both up about 4%, the former back above $105 per barrel.
Stock futures in Europe are so far looking through the oil-price rise, with indexes set to open mixed.
Euro STOXX 50 futures STXEc1 are up less than 0.1%, while futures on the DAX FDXc1 and CAC FCEc1 are both a touch lower. FTSE futures FFIc1 are up about 0.3%, given the index's heavy weighting to the energy sector.
The other main focus for equity markets is the boom in AI stocks, particularly semiconductor/memory manufacturers.
South Korea's Kospi .KS11, which is already up over 80% this year, rose another 4% overnight. U.S. futures EScv1 are steady.
In corporate news, shares in Delivery Hero DHER.DE could be in focus after Prosus sold a 5% stake to Hong Kong's Aspex for 335 million euros, representing a 22% premium.
