US INDEXES MIXED EARLY; NASDAQ DOWN WITH SPACEX
The Dow .DJI and S&P 500 .SPX are slightly higher in early trading on Monday, with U.S. Vice President JD Vance saying talks with Iranian officials in Switzerland had laid a "good foundation" for a final peace deal, while the Nasdaq .IXIC is easing along with SpaceX shares.
Oil prices are sharply lower, although tensions over the Strait of Hormuz and Lebanon remain in the Middle East war.
Technology .SPLRCT is leading sector gainers for the S&P 500 .SPX followed by financials .SPSY.
Shares of SpaceX SPCX.O are down more than 7%. The company, whose stock began trading on the Nasdaq June 12, said on Monday it launched an offering of senior unsecured notes and disclosed that it held about $100.8 billion in cash and cash equivalents as of June 19.
Investors are anxious to see Thursday's personal consumption expenditures data after a hawkish tilt by the Federal Reserve last week led traders to ramp up bets on rate increases this year.
