U.S. STOCKS RETREAT FROM EARLY GAINS AS YIELDS RISE
U.S. stocks fell in choppy trading on Monday, with the Nasdaq the biggest loser among the three main indexes, as concerns about inflation weighed on sentiment and pushed yields on longer-dated Treasuries to their highest in over a year in overnight trading, before easing back.
Oil prices moved higher as tensions in the Middle East appeared to stall, with negotiations ongoing to end the conflict. An Iranian news agency reported that the United States had agreed to temporarily waive sanctions on Iranian crude while talks continue.
President Donald Trump is expected to hold a Situation Room meeting on Tuesday with his top national security advisers to discuss the options for military action regarding Iran, Axios reported on Sunday, citing two U.S. officials.
Technology stocks were the biggest drag, while energy stocks were advancing the most. Here is the morning market snapshot:
