Across the week ending Thursday July 16, Saudi Arabia's major blue-chip stocks closed broadly lower, with six of the seven bellwether names finishing below their prior-week Thursday close (July 9) and one ending higher. The basket's average weekly move was approximately -1.2%.

ACWA POWER Co.(2082.SA) recorded the largest weekly decline in the group, settling at SAR 183.70 from SAR 192.00 a week earlier, a change of -4.32%. The stock closed lower in each of the five trading sessions of the week. Saudi Arabian Mining Co.(1211.SA) ended the week at SAR 56.15, down 2.77% from SAR 57.75, having risen on Sunday before moving lower over the following four sessions.

The banking group finished modestly lower: Al Rajhi Bank(1120.SA) closed at SAR 64.45 (-1.15%), and The Saudi National Bank(1180.SA) ended at SAR 38.14 (-0.63%). Saudi Telecom Co.(7010.SA) closed at SAR 43.18, down 0.74% on the week.

Saudi Arabian Oil Co.(2222.SA) traded in a narrow range throughout the five sessions and finished essentially flat at SAR 26.68, a marginal 0.15% below the prior week's Saudi Basic Industries Corp.(2010.SA) was the only name in the group to end the week higher, adding 1.65% to close at SAR 52.40 from SAR 51.55.

Weekly traded volumes were concentrated in the largest-cap names, with Saudi Aramco, Al Rajhi Bank and Saudi National Bank each recording aggregate weekly turnover above 16 million shares.
