TASI Mid-Market Update — April 19, 2026

The Saudi benchmark index Tadawul All Shares Index(TASI.SA) edged lower during Sunday’s session, as regional geopolitical developments and renewed uncertainty regarding energy supply routes weighed on investor sentiment.

The index retreated 0.1% in volatile trading, primarily influenced by a 0.8% decline in shares of the oil major, Saudi Arabian Oil Co.(2222.SA). The downward movement follows a significant 9% drop in global oil prices at Friday’s close, triggered by a temporary easing of tensions that had briefly allowed for the resumption of commercial shipping.

Market activity remains cautious as participants monitor the status of U.S.-Iran negotiations and the potential for further disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz. Despite reports of progress in diplomatic talks, the persistence of significant gaps between the negotiating parties has contributed to a subdued trading environment across Gulf equities.

In the large-cap sector, Al Rajhi Bank(1120.SA) trading 0.27% lower. The Saudi National Bank(1180.SA) and Saudi Arabian Mining Co.(1211.SA) are both seeing declines, moving 0.89% and 0.91% respectively. ACWA POWER Co.(2082.SA) is surging by 3%. Saudi Basic Industries Corp.(2010.SA) is easing by 0.5%.
