TASI Mid-Market Update — April 16, 2026
The Saudi Arabian benchmark index Tadawul All Shares Index(TASI.SA) trended lower during early trading on Thursday, recording a decline of 0.4%. The performance comes as regional investors weigh evolving geopolitical developments against domestic economic strategies.

The financial sector exerted downward pressure on the index, led by The Saudi National Bank(1180.SA), the kingdom’s largest lender by assets, which saw its shares fall by more than 2%. In the energy sector, Saudi Arabian Oil Co.(2222.SA) recorded a marginal decrease of 0.5%.
Oil prices remained relatively stable, with Brent crude futures trading at $96.4 a barrel. Market participants continue to monitor the impact of shipping disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz and the progress of international mediation efforts regarding regional tensions.
On the domestic front, the Public Investment Fund (PIF) has introduced a new five-year strategy. The $925 billion sovereign wealth fund intends to focus its investment activities on the domestic economy through six key priority areas, aiming to further the kingdom’s economic diversification and reduce long-term reliance on oil revenues.
In the large-cap sector, Al Rajhi Bank(1120.SA) is holding steady. Saudi Arabian Mining Co.(1211.SA) is seeing a slight dip of 0.8%. ACWA POWER Co.(2082.SA) is edging higher by 0.7%. Saudi Basic Industries Corp.(2010.SA) is retreating by 1.3%.
