TASI Mid-Market Update — Aug 6, 2026

Major Gulf equity markets traded in a narrow range during early Thursday sessions as investors evaluated regional geopolitical developments and maritime security conditions.

Tadawul All Shares Index(TASI.SA): Saudi Arabia’s benchmark index edged down 0.1% in early trade.

Market activity across the Gulf remains influenced by evolving security conditions and ongoing diplomatic discussions:

Maritime Corridor Discussions: Iran and Oman reported progress toward defining shipping coordinates through the Strait of Hormuz, though final terms and broader international consensus remain subject to ongoing negotiations.

Regional Security Developments: Investor focus remains on energy supply security following reported missile strikes targeting commercial tankers off the Red Sea port of Yanbu and in the Gulf of Aden.

In the large-cap sector, Al Rajhi Bank(1120.SA) is easing by 0.3%. The Saudi National Bank(1180.SA) is advancing 1.4%. Saudi Arabian Mining Co.(1211.SA) is rallying, 1.6%. ACWA POWER Co.(2082.SA) is seeing a slight dip of 1%. Saudi Basic Industries Corp.(2010.SA) is holding steady. Saudi Arabian Oil Co.(2222.SA) is seeing a slight dip of 0.4%.

SASCO Reports $20.9M xAI Valuation Gain

Saudi Automotive Services Co.(4050.SA)  received notice on August 5, 2026, that its investment in xAI was valued at USD 56.9 million as of June 30, 2026, before marketability discounts. This reflects a valuation gain of USD 20.9 million (SAR 62.6 million) over the USD 36 million recognized in Q2. SASCO will officially update the fair value in its Q3 2026 financial statements.

SASCO Posts Q2 Net Loss of SAR 6M

Saudi Automotive Services Co.(4050.SA) yesterday reported a Q2 2026 net loss of SAR 5.98 million, dropping from a profit of SAR 29.7 million a year earlier, despite a 12.2% rise in revenue to SAR 3.23 billion. The loss was driven by higher cost of sales and the absence of xAI fair value revaluation gains, which were not received prior to earnings preparation. For H1 2026, SASCO posted a net loss of SAR 29.69 million on revenues of SAR 6.25 billion.

BAAN Wins 5-Year Pilgrim License

BAAN Holding Group Co.(1820.SA) received a 5-year license from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah on August 5, 2026, to provide services for foreign pilgrims through 1452H. The move aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 to diversify operations and build sustainable revenue streams. Financial impact is currently undetermined as operational arrangements are underway.

Almunajem Shares Rise 4.6% on Results

Almunajem Foods Co.(4162.SA) reported a 173.2% year-on-year increase in Q2 2026 net profit to SAR 84.7 million, driven by higher gross margins across product categories. Revenue rose 1.9% to SAR 812.5 million, while company shares gained 4.56%. For H1 2026, net profit surged 155.9% to SAR 181.7 million despite a 1.5% drop in revenue.
