TASI Mid-Market Update — May 18, 2026
Saudi Arabia's benchmark equity index, Tadawul All Shares Index(TASI.SA), trading flat on Monday.
The downward pressure across Gulf equity markets follows a rise in regional geopolitical tensions. The United Arab Emirates defense ministry reported investigating a drone strike near the Barakah nuclear power plant, while Saudi Arabian authorities announced the interception of three drones that entered from Iraqi airspace.
In tandem with these security developments and stalled diplomatic efforts to resolve the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran, global energy markets reacted with oil prices surging to two-week highs. The decline in regional bourses also coincided with a broader selloff across Asian equity markets as market participants monitored escalating rhetoric and potential military options.
In the large-cap sector, Al Rajhi Bank(1120.SA) and The Saudi National Bank(1180.SA) are both relatively flat. Saudi Arabian Mining Co.(1211.SA) is seeing a slight dip of 0.7%. ACWA POWER Co.(2082.SA) is up by 0.17%. Saudi Basic Industries Corp.(2010.SA) is easing by 0.8%. Saudi Arabian Oil Co.(2222.SA) is posting a gain of 0.15%.

Sport Clubs Boosts Total To 62 Clubs
Sport Clubs Co.(6018.SA) opened a 5,600-square-meter ladies' club in Dammam under the Body Motions brand to strengthen its regional presence. This brings total operating venues to 62. Financial impacts will appear in Q2 2026, while 13 pipeline clubs are scheduled to open within the next 13 months.
