- There is no evidence as yet to suggest that lettuce sourced from Mexico caused a cyclosporiasis outbreak in the United States, Mexico's health minister David Kershenobich said on Tuesday.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported approximately 100 hospitalizations linked to the parasitic infection, which causes severe diarrhea and other gastrointestinal symptoms.

The outbreak has been traced to shredded iceberg lettuce served at Taco Bell restaurants in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and West Virginia.
