Middle East Crude-Benchmarks rise to one-week high amid supply tension

- Middle East crude benchmark premiums of Oman, Dubai and Murban increased to their highest level in over one week on Thursday, as supply stayed tight, though spot trading activity remained light.

Traders continued to focus on traffic through the key Strait of Hormuz.

A Panama-flagged crude oil tanker managed by Japanese refining group Eneos 5020.T has passed through the strait, ship-tracking data from LSEG showed on Thursday, the second Japan-linked oil ship to make it through.

On Wednesday, a Chinese oil tanker carrying Iraqi crude passed the strait and is heading to China.

Global oil supply will fall short of total demand this year as the Iran war wreaks havoc on Middle East oil production and drains inventories at an unprecedented pace, the International Energy Agency said on Wednesday, upending its earlier outlook calling for a surplus.
