RUSSIA'S STRIKES ON UKRAINE

Military aviation operations in Poland's airspace related to Russia's strikes on Ukraine have ended, the Polish army said.

Deputy Defense Minister Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka said she hopes the Polish military will have the capability of aerial refueling by the end of 2030. Poland is discussing this with Airbus, and the order would include at least two, and possibly even four, aircraft, Rzeczpospolita daily reported.


REUTERS POLL

Central Europe's currencies are mostly expected to firm in the next six months, led by the Polish zloty as investors focus more on domestic economic growth assuming the Middle East conflict eases, a Reuters poll showed on Wednesday.

Industrial activity across Central Europe diverged in June, with the Czech Republic and Hungary recording renewed growth above the 50-point threshold, while Poland saw a marked deterioration, with its PMI falling deeper into contraction.


NUCLEAR PLANT DEVELOPER

Poland-based SGE plans to build a fleet of 14 small nuclear reactors at a total cost of £35 billion ($46.5 billion), it said on Thursday, targeting power from the first project by 2034.


CANNIBALISM

Cannibalism became taboo in human societies not out of instinctive aversion but because it is harmful to populations who practise it, scientists from Poland and the Czech Republic have found.
