Polymarket, Kaito AI Launch 'Attention Markets' That Let Traders Bet On Social Hype

Polymarket is pushing beyond elections and sports with a new category of contracts that let traders bet on social-media "mindshare," using Kaito AI data to settle outcomes.

The companies call the product "Attention Markets," according to a Forbes report on Tuesday, and Polymarket says it plans to roll out dozens of these contracts starting in early March, expanding from AI topics into entertainment and world events.

Instead of a binary outcome, these markets aim to price the share of attention a topic captures across platforms like X, TikTok, and YouTube.

What Is Kaito AI?

Kaito AI is a leading decentralized information engine designed for the crypto and Web3 ecosystem.

While traditional search engines struggle to capture the fast-moving, fragmented conversations on social media and private channels, Kaito AI uses Large Language Models (LLMs) to aggregate and analyze millions of data points in real-time.

It quantifies “Vibes” into two main metrics:

  • Mindshare: A numerical value representing a topic’s share of the total conversation.
  • Sentiment: A qualitative score tracking whether the public perception is shifting toward “Bullish” or “Bearish.”

For Polymarket, Kaito AI acts as a “Trustless Oracle,” ensuring that market results are based on objective, verifiable data rather than subjective opinion.

In the past, Kaito AI has faced criticism over potential data manipulation and concerns about the accuracy of its sentiment analysis, with some questioning whether social media metrics can truly provide reliable trading signals, according to Bitget.

Why It Matters For Traders

The launch marks a significant shift toward InfoFi (Information Finance), the concept that information itself is a commodity that can be monetized, traded, and speculated on like any other asset.

Prediction markets are booming, and platforms like Polymarket are beginning to explore what’s possible in this new avenue for financialization.

The first Attention Markets are already live: one tracking how high will Polymarket’s mindshare will go and another whether it will achieve an all-time high mindshare in the first quarter of 2026.
