President Rainer Blair Sold A Bunch Of Shares In Danaher
Danaher Corporation DHR | 0.00 |
We wouldn't blame Danaher Corporation (NYSE:DHR) shareholders if they were a little worried about the fact that Rainer Blair, the President recently netted about US$13m selling shares at an average price of US$219. That diminished their holding by a very significant 61%, which arguably implies a strong desire to reallocate capital.
The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Danaher
Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider sale was by the Co-Founder & Director, Mitchell Rales, for US$130m worth of shares, at about US$217 per share. So what is clear is that an insider saw fit to sell at around the current price of US$215. We generally don't like to see insider selling, but the lower the sale price, the more it concerns us. Given that the sale took place at around current prices, it makes us a little cautious but is hardly a major concern.

Insider Ownership
Many investors like to check how much of a company is owned by insiders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. It's great to see that Danaher insiders own 11% of the company, worth about US$16b. This kind of significant ownership by insiders does generally increase the chance that the company is run in the interest of all shareholders.
