- Uber Technologies UBER.N is in advanced talks with the German food-delivery company Delivery Hero DHER.DE, regarding a potential acquisition, following an approach made by Uber in May that valued Delivery Hero at about $11.38 billion.

- Ford Motor's F.N executive chairman Bill Ford said at an Axios event in Washington that the U.S. auto industry has to be prepared to take on China'scompetitive carmakers and expect that one day they will break into America.

- Alcoa AA.N said that it has reached a final investmentdecision with the governments of Australia, Japan and the U.S. to build a gallium production plant at the company’s Wagerup alumina refinery in Western Australia.
