SAIC Wins $242 Million U.S. Navy Contract for Propulsion Test Facility Operations

Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) has been awarded a $242 million contract by the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport. The five-year contract covers the continued operation, maintenance, and modernization of the Propulsion Test Facility (PTF) in support of the U.S. Navy's Undersea Warfare Weapons, Vehicles, and Defensive Systems Department. Under the agreement, SAIC will provide engineering, technical, and logistics services, including testing, prototyping, systems integration, and digital engineering for torpedo components, submarine systems, and propulsion technologies. The contract supports programs involving the MK 48 Heavyweight Torpedo, MK 54 Lightweight Torpedo, undersea targets, sensors, unmanned underwater vehicles, and submarine equipment.
