March 3 (Reuters) - Cybersecurity firm SentinelOne S.N on Tuesday appointed Sonalee Parekh as chief financial officer, effective March 24, tapping the former RingCentral finance chief as the cybersecurity firm faces intensifying competition from larger rivals.
Parekh will join the company from work management platform Asana. Barry Padgett will continue to serve as interim CFO until Parekh starts.
SentinelOne has been navigating a crowded cybersecurity market being reshaped by artificial intelligence and led by larger rivals including CrowdStrike CRWD.O and Palo Alto Networks PANW.O.
Before Asana, Parekh served as CFO of cloud communications platform RingCentral, where she helped scale the business to more than $2 billion in annual recurring revenue.
Chief Executive Tomer Weingarten said Parekh's experience scaling finance operations and managing profitability would support SentinelOne's next phase of growth.
Former CFO Barbara Larson stepped down from her role as CFO mid-January to pursue an opportunity outside the cybersecurity industry. SentinelOne is expected to report fourth-quarter and full-year results on March 12.
