Steven Sarowitz Bought 107% More Shares In Angel Studios
Angel Studios ANGX | 0.00 |
Angel Studios, Inc. (NYSE:ANGX) shareholders (or potential shareholders) will be happy to see that the Independent Director, Steven Sarowitz, recently bought a whopping US$1.4m worth of stock, at a price of US$3.83. That increased their holding by a full 107%, which arguably implies the sort of confidence required for a shy sweet-natured nerd to ask the most popular kid in the school to go out on a date.
Angel Studios Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
Notably, that recent purchase by Steven Sarowitz is the biggest insider purchase of Angel Studios shares that we've seen in the last year. That implies that an insider found the current price of US$4.37 per share to be enticing. Of course they may have changed their mind. But this suggests they are optimistic. If someone buys shares at well below current prices, it's a good sign on balance, but keep in mind they may no longer see value. In this case we're pleased to report that the insider purchases were made at close to current prices.
While Angel Studios insiders bought shares during the last year, they didn't sell. The average buy price was around US$3.46. To my mind it is good that insiders have invested their own money in the company. But we must note that the investments were made at well below today's share price. The chart below shows insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year. If you want to know exactly who sold, for how much, and when, simply click on the graph below!

Insider Ownership Of Angel Studios
Another way to test the alignment between the leaders of a company and other shareholders is to look at how many shares they own. A high insider ownership often makes company leadership more mindful of shareholder interests. It's great to see that Angel Studios insiders own 21% of the company, worth about US$174m. This kind of significant ownership by insiders does generally increase the chance that the company is run in the interest of all shareholders.
So What Does This Data Suggest About Angel Studios Insiders?
It is good to see the recent insider purchase. We also take confidence from the longer term picture of insider transactions. But we don't feel the same about the fact the company is making losses. Along with the high insider ownership, this analysis suggests that insiders are quite bullish about Angel Studios. One for the watchlist, at least! While it's good to be aware of what's going on with the insider's ownership and transactions, we make sure to also consider what risks are facing a stock before making any investment decision.
