- Syria's state oil company signed a gas development contract with U.S. firms ConocoPhillips and Novatera Energy to support and expand production from onshore gas fields, the ministry said on Tuesday.

The Syrian energy minister said the agreement would help boost domestic gas output and strengthen energy supplies, while ConocoPhillips said the deal provides a framework for restoring and developing gas production in Syria.
