Telefonica's Brazil unit, Desktop in talks over possible acquisition

SAO PAULO, May 30 (Reuters) - Telefonica Brasil VIVT3.SA said on Wednesday it was in talks with Brazilian broadband infrastructure operator Desktop DESK3.SA over a potential acquisition.
The two companies said in separate filings to the Sao Paulo stock market regulator CVM that no agreement had been reached.
Desktop's market value was 1.89 billion reais ($363 million)on Wednesday, according to LSEG data.
Telefonica Brasil is 75% owned by Spanish telecom giant Telefonica TEF.MC.
A spokesperson at Telefonica in Madrid declined to comment.
