Quick Summary and Outlook
The S&P 500 index(SPX.US) fell slightly on Monday as a drop in key technology stocks overshadowed a move lower in Treasury yields.
The broad market index fell 0.3%, while the NASDAQ(IXIC.US) lost 0.8%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average(DJI.US) traded up 187 points, or 0.4%.
Declines in chip stocks weighed on the broader market. Micron Technology, Inc.(MU.US) shed more than 6%, while Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.(AMD.US) and Broadcom Limited(AVGO.US) pulled back 3% and around 2%, respectively. The PHLX Sox Semiconductor Sector Ishares(SOXX.US) slid almost 3%.
Other tech stocks fell as well. Coherent Corp.(COHR.US) and Lumentum Holdings, Inc.(LITE.US) dropped more than 7%, while Sandisk Corporation(SNDK.US) dropped 9%. Corning Inc(GLW.US) moved down 4%, while Seagate Technology Holdings PLC(STX.US) declined 6%.
Treasury yields moved lower after reported that the Treasury plans to fund a buyback operation. The $US10Y note yield fell 3 basis points to 4.708%. The yield on the $US30Y bond, which topped 5.3% last week to reach levels not seen in nearly 20 years, shed more than 3 basis points to 5.237%.
The report comes after Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said last week that the Treasury Department's plans to increase the level of government debt buybacks in the next few months could be larger than the $4 billion that was announced earlier that week.

Cid Holdco Inc(DAIC.US) shares shot up 327% to $1.82.
Shares of Expion360, Inc.(XPON.US) got a boost, surging 104% after the company announced a $3.425 million acquisition of Eastern Louisiana Oil and Gas Exploration Prospect. The company announced the company commenced a $9 million offering of 2.117 million shares at $4.25 per share.
Sadot Group Inc.(SDOT.US) shares were also up, gaining 56% to $22.45.
