A.P. Moller Capital has agreed to acquire Mainstream Renewable Power South Africa, a prominent renewable energy developer in South Africa, through its Emerging Markets Infrastructure Fund II. This acquisition is part of A.P. Moller Capital's strategy to invest in infrastructure that supports the energy transition in high-growth markets. Mainstream South Africa boasts a significant renewable energy portfolio, including 148 MW of operating and in-construction assets, 351 MW of construction-ready projects, and an extensive development pipeline of approximately 11.6 GW in solar, wind, and battery storage. The deal underscores South Africa's position as a rapidly growing renewable energy market, driven by increasing electricity demand and regulatory changes. Completion of the transaction is subject to regulatory approvals.
In other trading, Shandong Sinocera Functional Material (SZSE:300285) was trading firmly up 14.1% and ending trading at CN¥89.53. Meanwhile, Guangdong Electric Power Development (SZSE:000539) trailed, down 10% to end the day at CN¥7.40.
