May 12 (Reuters) - United Airlines' UAL.O flight attendants voted to ratify a new five-year labor contract that bumps up base pay by nearly a third and includes boarding pay, the union representing them said on Tuesday.

The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, which represents nearly 30,000 United flight attendants covered by the agreement, said 82% voted in favor of the new deal.

The terms of the contract, first announced by the airline in March, include a 31% rise in base pay, remuneration for the time passengers take to board the plane and a combined $741 million in retroactive pay, among other benefits.

United and its cabin crew entered federal mediation in 2023, and the union had rejected a previous tentative agreement in July 2025, saying that it fell short of its demands.

The current deal was reached at the National Mediation Board with the assistance of mediator Michael Kelliher, the union said.
