- Ireland's CRH CRH.N is nearing a deal to acquire its rival Arcosa ACA.N, in an acquisition that would be the Irish company's largest-ever takeover, the Financial Times reported on Sunday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Here are a few details:

  • With debt, Dallas-based Arcosa would cost over $8 billion, the newspaper said.

  • Arcosa, which is a provider of infrastructure-related products and solutions, reported a 5% rise in first-quarter revenue to $663.30 million from a year ago; analysts expected $623.38 million.

  • An acquisition of Arcosa would give CRH access to construction materials such as aggregates and crushed concrete and expand the Irish company’s portfolio to include engineered structures for power utilities, telecom towers and lighting poles, according to the report.

  • CRH is in advanced discussions with Arcosa, with a deal potentially being agreed upon as soon as next week, the report added.

  • In 2025, CRH acquired Eco Material Technologies, a supplier of supplementary cementitious materials, for $2.1 billion to expand its presence in North America.

  • Reuters could not immediately verify the report. CRH and Arcosa did not immediately respond to Reuters' requests for comment.
