MEXICO CITY, May 6 (Reuters) - Mexico's Grupo Carso GCARSOA1.MX said on Wednesday that it has signed a binding agreement with Harbour Energy HBR.L to acquire, via a subsidiary, an additional 5% stake in the Zama oilfield in the Gulf of Mexico for $75.25 million.
Here are a few details:
Once the deal closes, Grupo Carso will, through its subsidiary Zamajal, hold about 17.84% stake in Zama, it said in a filing to Mexican Stock Exchange.
Harbour Energy will hold 27.26% and Talos Energy TALO.N 4.47%, while state oil firm Pemex will retain majority control with 50.43%, the company said.
The proceeds will primarily be used for oilfield development, while the deal's closure is subject to the relevant government and regulatory permits.
