NEW YORK, June 3 (Reuters) - U.S. energy firms pulled crude from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) for a 10th week in a row during the week ended May 29, cutting the total amount of oil in the SPR to 357.1 million barrels, the lowest since January 2024, the U.S. Energy Information Administration said in its weekly Petroleum Status Report on Wednesday.
That was the first time energy firms pulled oil out of the SPR for 10 weeks in a row since July 2023. Last week, they pulled about 8.0 million barrels out of the SPR, down from 9.1 million barrels during the week ended May 22 and a record 9.9 million barrels during the week ended May 15.
