U.S. equity futures rose on Tuesday as Treasury yields fell for another day. Chip stocks also moved higher, with investors looking ahead to Nvidia’s earnings.
Futures tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 296 points, or 0.6%. S&P 500 futures added 0.5%, while Nasdaq 100 futures were 0.9% higher.
The benchmark 10-year Treasury note yield lost more than 3 basis points to trade at 4.666%. It declined on Monday as well after market reported that the Treasury Department could use its $1 trillion General Account to fund bond repurchases.
Investors were also moving into chip stocks as they geared up for NVIDIA Corporation(NVDA.US) earnings on Wednesday after the bell. Shares of Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.(AMD.US) and Micron Technology, Inc.(MU.US) added more than 2%, while Intel Corporation(INTC.US) advanced more than 3%. Broadcom Limited(AVGO.US) and NVIDIA Corporation(NVDA.US) were both up more than 1%, and the PHLX Sox Semiconductor Sector Ishares(SOXX.US) moved up more than 2%.
