US released most amount of oil from strategic petroleum reserves last week, EIA says
NEW YORK, May 20 (Reuters) - The United States withdrew nearly 10 million barrels of oil from the country's Strategic Petroleum Reserve last week, the biggest such drawdown on record, the Energy Information Administration said on Wednesday.
The country's strategic stockpile stood at 374.2 million barrels as of May 15, EIA data showed. The prior record withdrawal of 8.6 million barrels took place in the week ended May 8.
