USMCA did not deliver on reducing U.S. trade deficit, senior administration official says
July 1 (Reuters) - The trade agreement between the U.S., Canada and Mexico did not adequately lower U.S. trade deficit with its North American neighbors, a senior Trump administration official said on Wednesday as Washington announced the U.S. would not renew the deal.
The official said the administration was not interested in prolonging negotiations with Mexico and Canada and that "we need to come to a conclusion as quickly as possible."
