- FIFA announced on Thursday that it will release a new football video game called "FIFA World Cup: Inaugural Edition" on Netflix Games on June 11, coinciding with the start of the 2026 World Cup.

The game will be available exclusively to Netflix subscribers at no additional cost, as FIFA seeks to expand fan engagement through its updated digital strategy.

Developed in partnership with Netflix Games and Delphi Interactive, the game is designed to be an easy-to-use football simulation, allowing players and platform users to participate in the tournament experience.

Players will be able to choose from all 48 teams participating in the World Cup and play matches in 16 stadiums across the tournament, with more than 1,200 players in the game.

This model uses smartphones as remote controls, allowing users to connect to the TV by scanning a QR code, according to FIFA.

Up to four users can play together.
