July 7 (Reuters) - The Nasdaq index fell at the open on Wall Street on Tuesday amid a decline in chip stocks, as investors questioned the momentum of the artificial intelligence-led rally despite strong earnings from Samsung, while a report about Chinese firm DeepSec manufacturing AI chips weighed on investor confidence.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 48.1 points, or 0.09 percent, at the open to 53,104.06 points.
The Standard & Poor's 500 index fell 20.8 points, or 0.28 percent, to 7,516.63, while the Nasdaq Composite Index declined 161.0 points, or 0.62 percent, to 25,960.13.
