- The Standard & Poor's 500 and Nasdaq indexes opened lower on Wall Street on Wednesday, pressured by weak shares of semiconductor companies.

This comes amid continued investor caution ahead of the first wave of earnings reports from major technology companies, which could determine whether the AI-driven rally on Wall Street is sustainable.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 62.5 points, or 0.12 percent, at the open to 52,287.14, while the Standard & Poor's 500 Index fell 11.7 points, or 0.16 percent, to 7,497.47.

The Nasdaq Composite Index fell 143.5 points, or 0.56 percent, to 25,693.719.
