CARLISL, PA, July 16 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday urged top defense officials to speed up weapons manufacturing and increase production capacity, as the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East put pressure on U.S. stockpiles.
In a speech during the Defense and Innovation Summit in Pennsylvania, Trump urged arms manufacturers, saying, "We have the best quality in the world, but we need more speed."
Trump’s presence underscores the administration’s growing focus on defense production, as the two conflicts consume large quantities of missiles, interceptors, and other weapons, highlighting the limits of U.S. military supply chains and production capacity.
The summit, held at the U.S. Army War College in Pennsylvania, brought together top military leaders, defense contractors, investors, and technology company executives to discuss strengthening the U.S. industrial base and accelerating the delivery of advanced weapons systems.
