Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: NMD Group, a global leader in engineering, procurement, construction and marine dredging, listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange under the symbol NMDC , concluded its participation in the “Make in the UAE 2026” Forum and Exhibition, which witnessed the signing of a number of industrial partnerships, the launch of initiatives to enhance local content, and the development of its infrastructure capabilities, in a move that reflects its growing role as an integrated national platform for advanced manufacturing, engineering and the implementation of strategic projects.

Over the four days, the group showcased the scale and integration of its operations across the energy, marine dredging and offshore, infrastructure, logistics, and technical services sectors. This diversity reflects a broad operational base comprising more than 170 specialized vessels and over 480 units of land-based equipment, underpinning its ability to efficiently execute complex land and offshore projects through the integration of engineering, manufacturing, and offshore operations.

During this participation, the group concluded a series of agreements that included enhancing local industrial content, developing supply chains in the energy sector, digital infrastructure, and water security, in addition to showcasing new capabilities in the fields of engineering and maritime business that have been developed within the UAE.

NMD Dredging & Marine unveiled the NMDC Coastal and Hydrodynamic Center, the region’s first center for physical hydraulic model testing, which will enter commercial operation to provide advanced capabilities for testing and certifying coastal and marine engineering projects within the UAE, as well as simulating complex marine infrastructure, thereby reducing reliance on international laboratories specializing in this field.

NMD Infra also signed an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) agreement with Etihad Water and Electricity Company (EWEC) and Lantania Aguas to execute the Fujairah I Independent Water Producer (IWP) project. The 60 million gallons per day (MGD) reverse osmosis seawater desalination plant, valued at AED 1.046 billion, is a key milestone preceding the launch of Lantania NMD Water and reinforces the group’s contribution to supporting the UAE’s long-term water security.

NMD Energy also signed a memorandum of understanding with Energy Masters to establish the first manufacturing facility in the UAE for electric submersible pumps (ESPs) , a move that supports technology transfer, enhances reliance on local industrial capabilities, and reduces dependence on imported oilfield equipment.

The company also signed an agreement with Wasco Energy Limited for the standardized manufacturing of data centers, along with an agreement with Newway Valve (Suzhou) Limited focused on localizing valve manufacturing operations. These agreements contribute to strengthening local industrial supply chains and expanding manufacturing capabilities within the country, supporting the energy and infrastructure sectors in the UAE.

Localizing vital industrial and engineering capabilities was a key focus of the group's presence, with NMD CLTS showcasing its expansion in shipbuilding and marine support services through a portfolio of locally developed marine assets at its Musaffah workshops. The vessels on display included the M-21 Multi-Cat, Bushe Cat workboats, and the T9 tugboat, which support maritime logistics, port operations, cargo handling, and marine infrastructure projects. This presentation highlighted the company's growing shipbuilding expertise, rapid turnaround times, and ability to provide versatile marine vessels that support industrial and maritime operations across the region.

NMD Group also signed an agreement with CyberGate Defense covering operational technology security, data governance and artificial intelligence, application security, and AI-powered cybersecurity risk management. This partnership supports the group's drive to accelerate its digital transformation and enhance its business readiness and ability to respond effectively to future operational challenges.

NMD Group’s participation in the “Make in the UAE 2026” Forum and Exhibition reflects its position as one of the leading industrial and infrastructure groups in the UAE. By expanding local content across the energy, water, marine engineering, and digital infrastructure sectors, the group continues to support the nation’s objectives of economic diversification and development, and to establish a resilient industrial base built on advanced technology and national capabilities.
