Zawya - Press Releases: Airbus plans to launch Agnet Extensions to enhance operational capabilities for mission-critical communications.
Dubai, UAE: Airbus Defence and Space today announced the highly anticipated launch of Agnet Extensions , a new suite of optional feature packages designed to enable organizations to enhance their Agnet MCX environment with advanced capabilities tailored to their specific operational requirements. Scheduled for commercial release in the third quarter of 2026, Agnet Extensions represents a significant step forward in the evolution of the Agnet platform, providing customers with greater flexibility to expand mission-critical collaboration, manage resources, and enhance situational and operational awareness to meet their evolving needs.
This move comes ahead of the Crisis and Emergency Communications World Conference and Exhibition ( CCW 2026 ), which will be held from June 16 to 18, 2026 at ExCeL London in the United Kingdom, where Airbus will showcase the new solution and give visitors an initial look at the capabilities designed to help organizations manage increasingly complex and demanding operating environments .
Thibault Favre, Head of Sales and Software Delivery for the Middle East, Africa, and India at Airbus Defence and Space’s Public Safety and Security division, said: “Mission-critical communications users operate in dynamic environments where requirements vary significantly between organizations and evolve over time. With Agnet Extensions, we are providing our customers with a flexible framework that allows them to enhance their Agnet platform experience with advanced capabilities that address specific operational challenges, whether by improving team coordination, enhancing situational and field awareness, or enabling more agile resource management in the field. This launch reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering innovations that help our customers operate more efficiently and make more accurate and informed decisions when they are most needed.”
The initial release of Agnet Extensions includes two advanced feature packs designed to seamlessly integrate with existing Agnet deployments. The Agnet Settings Pack is designed to enhance day-to-day operational efficiency and improve team management. It provides pre-written text messages, allowing users to quickly send commonly used messages to individual users or group chats without having to rewrite them each time. It also enables organizations to enrich contact profiles with up to five custom attributes, such as professional roles, certifications, or qualifications, enabling faster and more precise contact searches.
The suite also offers a mobile-based administrative role, allowing authorized field personnel to create and manage chat groups directly from their devices, providing greater operational flexibility outside of control rooms. Static map layers can also be imported into the Agnet platform, giving dispatchers and operations room operators additional geographic context and supporting more accurate and informed decision-making during operations.
The Agnet Advanced Geolocation suite, available as a standalone capability with a separate license, provides advanced field and situational awareness through sophisticated location-based services. Its centralized geofencing feature allows operations room operators to define virtual operational zones and automatically trigger notifications or group chat updates when personnel enter or leave those zones.
To support operations in environments where satellite positioning services are unavailable, such as tunnels, underground metro networks, or other locations where GPS signals are unreliable, the suite includes Cell ID positioning, enabling users to be located using cellular network signals. Additional capabilities include dynamic map layers and cross-organizational geolocation sharing, allowing multiple agencies and teams to coordinate resources more effectively during large-scale incidents and joint multi-agency operations.
Agnet Extensions requires the Agnet MCX platform version 25.1.10 as the base platform. New feature packs will be available to Agnet Cloud Service ( SaaS ) customers during the third quarter of 2026, with Airbus coordinating deployment and installation for large enterprise environments.
Further details about Agnet Extensions will be revealed during the World Congress and Exhibition on Emergency and Crisis Communications, as Airbus continues to expand the capabilities of the Agnet platform to meet the evolving needs of mission-critical communications users around the world.
