Dubai: The World Government Summit Foundation affirmed that high-performance computing has become one of the most important pillars of strategic power for countries, due to its direct impact on economic growth, scientific progress, and the geopolitical influence of governments and countries, noting that countries that possess advanced computing systems have a greater ability to promote innovation, consolidate economic resilience, and achieve technological sovereignty .

This came in a new strategic report entitled “Sovereignty and Advanced Computing: How High-Performance Computing is Redrawing the Map of Global Competitiveness,” prepared by the World Government Summit Foundation in cooperation with SIA , and reviewed the rapid transformations taking place in the advanced computing sector, and its pivotal role in supporting economies, enhancing economic competitiveness, accelerating scientific innovation, and supporting governments’ readiness for the future .

The report emphasized that high-performance computers are no longer limited to laboratories and scientific research, but have become an essential part of international power equations and global policymaking, especially with the rapid expansion in artificial intelligence applications, genomics, climate modeling, energy systems, security, and defense .
