London, UK – Investcorp, a leading global alternative investment firm, announced today that it has entered into an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Smart Managed Solutions, or “Smart,” the “Company,” a rapidly growing UK-based provider of mechanical and electrical facilities management services for buildings . As part of the transaction, the Company’s founders will retain a minority stake. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed .
Founded in 2017 and headquartered in London, SMART is a company specializing in mechanical and electrical systems services, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) , electrical, fire, water, and gas. The company focuses on high-quality commercial buildings, as well as specialized, technology-oriented sectors such as life sciences, education, digital infrastructure, and public sector assets.
SMART has established its position through the quality of its services and its data-driven business model, in addition to its close relationships with major building management companies.
The company has delivered strong performance, with revenues exceeding £100 million, and has recorded annual organic growth exceeding 30% in recent years, driven by increasing demand for high-quality facilities management services in a strong market with a large number of disparate players .
Under Investcorp’s ownership, Smart is expected to continue its organic growth, alongside a well-considered acquisition strategy aimed at expanding into new sectors and regions across the UK. Investcorp will support the company in its next phase of development, including continued investment in technology and strengthening its corporate capabilities.
