Zawya - Press Releases: Boubyan signs strategic partnership with CODED Academy within the Unicode program
Saleh Al-Mansour: The partnership provides PRIME Youth account customers with an opportunity to acquire digital and programming skills in a specialized educational environment.
Ahmed Maarefi: The Unicode program was designed to be the last step in a university student's journey and the first step in their professional career.
As part of continuing to develop the value that the PRIME account offers to young people, Boubyan Bank announced the signing of a strategic partnership with CODED Academy, the first academy specializing in artificial intelligence and programming in the Arab world, within the sixth edition of the Unicode program, in a step that reflects the development of the role of the PRIME account to offer, in addition to banking solutions and benefits, quality opportunities to acquire digital and programming skills that enhance the readiness of young people for the requirements of the future.
The partnership was signed at the Kuwait Stock Exchange headquarters, in the presence of Saleh Al-Mansour, General Manager of Boubyan Bank, Ahmed Marafi, Co-founder and CEO of CODED Academy, Nasser Al-Sanousi, Senior Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at the Kuwait Stock Exchange, Ahmed Al-Falah, Managing Director of Banking and Investment Services at Kuwait Financial Centre “Markaz”, along with a number of leaders and representatives of the participating entities.
The partnership runs from August to December 2026, allowing young PRIME account customers, aged 15 to 25, to join the Unicode program, which includes intensive training courses in programming and digital skills, with the aim of providing them with the knowledge and tools that enable them to keep up with the demands of the digital economy and enhance their readiness to compete in the labor market.
The initiative is being implemented in partnership with CODED Academy, with the participation of Boursa Kuwait and Kuwait Financial Centre “Markaz” as strategic partners. Boursa Kuwait is hosting the training program and organizing a number of workshops at the new headquarters of Boubyan Bank, providing participants with an educational experience that combines the academic aspect with practical application, and reflects the commitment of the various partners to preparing a generation that is more ready for the requirements of the future.
** PRIME account value enhancement
On this occasion, Al-Mansour expressed his delight at this strategic partnership with CODED Academy within the Unicode initiative, which represents the first of its kind between a bank and an academy specializing in programming and digital skills targeting the youth category, stressing that it is in line with Boubyan Bank’s vision of investing in the energies of youth, and providing value that goes beyond the traditional concept of youth banking accounts.
He added, "At Boubyan, we believe that our role is no longer limited to developing banking products and solutions or providing a distinguished banking experience for young people, but extends to being partners in their journey towards building their future, through initiatives that open up horizons for them to learn and acquire the skills required by the digital economy and contribute to their academic and professional career. Today we measure our success by what we add to the future of our customers, and not just by what we provide them with products and services."
He explained that this vision is gaining increasing importance in light of the rapid transformations the world is witnessing due to technology and artificial intelligence, which are reshaping the nature of jobs and the skills required. This makes investing in building the digital capabilities of young people and empowering them a real necessity, which prompted the bank to develop the value offered by the PRIME account, so that its role extends from meeting banking needs to contributing to preparing young people to acquire the skills required by the economy of the future.
Al Mansour pointed out that CODED Academy was chosen because of its leading position in preparing and qualifying young people in the fields of programming and digital skills, making it an ideal partner to achieve the goals of this initiative, and to enable PRIME clients to own the tools of the digital economy and enhance their readiness to compete in the labor market.
He stressed that the success of quality initiatives is linked to the integration of roles between different institutions, adding, "When the efforts of educational institutions, the private sector and the financial sector are integrated, learning outcomes become more relevant to the needs of the labor market, and we are able to prepare a generation that possesses the skills and capabilities necessary to contribute to driving the Kuwaiti economy, which is what we seek to achieve through this partnership . "
Preparing young talents
For his part, Ahmed Marafi, co-founder and CEO of Coded Academy, affirmed, “We are living through a pivotal moment in the history of the labor market. Artificial intelligence is no longer a subject to be taught, but a reality that is reshaping every profession and every sector, and with it, the bar has been raised for what is expected of every university graduate. Kuwaiti universities are graduating minds that are no less than any minds in the world, but the real challenge is no longer in academic achievement, but rather in the gap between what is taught and what is practiced.”
He said, "This is where UniCODE came from, a program we built to be the last step in a university student's journey and the first step in their career. They emerge from it having transformed their knowledge into production, and their theory into projects that speak for them before they speak." He added, "At Coded, we do not treat our university students as trainees, but as a generation that will carry the next Kuwaiti economy on its shoulders. All we do is hand them the tools and pave the way for them."
He noted that what makes this launch even more impactful is our partnership with Boubyan Bank, an institution that has made its connection with youth its identity and innovation its approach. When those who believe in the capabilities of this generation join forces with those who invest in them, the result is more than just a training program; it's a program that cultivates a generation ready to elevate the name of our country, Kuwait. So, thank you to Boubyan Bank for this belief, and we look forward to seeing our graduates' projects come to fruition.
