  • More than 47 ambassadors were honored for their outstanding role in enhancing Dubai's position as a global hub for business events and knowledge exchange.
  • The awards included winners in four categories: Dubai Centre for Economic and Professional Bodies, and local, regional and international events.

Dubai , United Arab Emirates: The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism honored 40 members of the "Ambassador Program" in recognition of their outstanding contributions to attracting the most prominent international and regional conferences and meetings to Dubai, and developing and supporting locally established business events .

The recognition came during the program’s annual dinner, which celebrated ambassadors representing leading institutions and organizations from various sectors and industries, in appreciation of their active role in consolidating Dubai’s position as a leading global destination for business events, innovation and knowledge exchange .

The event was held at The Lana Hotel, part of the Dorchester Collection Dubai, and was organized by Dubai Business Events, the official events and conferences bureau of Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism. The evening was attended by a number of key partners, industry professionals, and program ambassadors, celebrating their contributions and highlighting the program’s role in strengthening Dubai’s diversified, knowledge-based economy, in line with the objectives of Dubai’s D33 economic agenda.

The event highlighted the growing role of the Ambassador Program in attracting high-level international conferences and meetings to Dubai, as well as its contribution to developing business events originating in Dubai, thus strengthening this ecosystem in the emirate. The evening's program also included entertainment performances by improvisational comedian Mina Licioni and musician Abdullah Al Shamsi, known as NotSoHuman , in addition to providing opportunities for networking and exploring potential collaborations between ambassadors and partners .

This year, ambassadors were honored across four main categories: local, regional, and international events, in addition to the Dubai Centre for Economic and Professional Bodies category for ambassadors who are members of the Centre. The honorees embody the diversity of expertise and outstanding representation of various sectors within the program, including healthcare, technology, academia, engineering, business, and the government sector. This underscores the program's ongoing role in enhancing Dubai's global standing and organizing events with a tangible positive impact on the city .

On this occasion, Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, part of Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, said: “We are proud to recognize the achievements of the Ambassadors of the Ambassador Program, whose continuous efforts are a cornerstone in consolidating Dubai’s position as a leading global destination for business events. With their extensive experience, distinguished network of relationships, and unwavering commitment, these ambassadors play a pivotal role in attracting international and regional conferences and meetings that contribute to enhancing knowledge exchange, developing various sectors, and supporting long-term sustainable economic growth.”

Al Khaja added: “The Ambassador Program continues to consolidate its position as one of the main drivers of the business events ecosystem in Dubai through its close cooperation with a select group of experts and institutions representing many sectors. This enables it to attract and develop quality events that reflect the depth of expertise and competencies that the city possesses, supporting the exchange of knowledge and enhancing the achievement of the goals of Dubai’s economic agenda D33 .”

Since its launch in 2010, the Ambassador Program has grown to include more than 350 members and has played a significant role in securing numerous prestigious events for Dubai. In 2025, Dubai Business Events submitted 747 bids, successfully winning 504 of them for events scheduled up to 2029 – a 15% increase in the number of winning bids compared to 2024. These confirmed events are expected to attract 272,262 participants, representing a 29% year-on-year increase. Dubai also hosted 481 business events last year .

As Dubai continues to strengthen its position within the global meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions sector, the "Ambassador Programme" remains a key driver of this progress, by supporting collaboration, innovation and excellence in the business events landscape .
