The Omani Products Promotion Supervisory Team (OPEX), in cooperation with the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in the United Republic of Tanzania, organized the Omani-Tanzanian Businessmen Forum on the sidelines of the 50th Golden Jubilee of the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (SABA SABA 2026). During the forum, the prospects for enhancing trade and investment cooperation between the two sides were discussed by addressing the possibility of obtaining commercial partnerships between them, learning about export and import procedures and mechanisms to and from Tanzania, and exploring the possibility of finding marketing outlets and obtaining agents and distributors for Omani products in the Tanzanian market and neighboring markets with the aim of increasing the volume of Omani exports.
His Excellency Saud bin Hilal Al-Shidhani, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Republic of Tanzania, affirmed that the forum brings together the private sector in both countries with the aim of strengthening direct communication between business owners and exploring partnership and investment opportunities. This contributes to expanding economic and trade relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Republic of Tanzania. He noted that the forum is being held on the sidelines of the Sultanate of Oman's participation in the 50th Golden Jubilee edition of the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (SABASA), which represents a significant milestone in promoting Omani products in African markets. The fair is considered one of the most prominent trade events in Tanzania and East Africa. His Excellency explained that this participation is the first of its kind for the Sultanate of Oman in the fair, and includes the presence of four government entities and more than 20 Omani companies representing diverse economic sectors, including small and medium enterprises and large corporations. He expressed his aspiration to expand Omani participation in future editions, which will enhance opportunities for trade and investment cooperation with the Tanzanian market and neighboring markets. He pointed out that the diversity of participating Omani products reflects the Sultanate's productive capabilities and meets the needs of the Tanzanian market. He added that the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in the United Republic of Tanzania United Tanzania worked in cooperation with the "OPEX" team to create all the means to ensure the success of the participation.

He noted that the forum was organized at an opportune time, coinciding with the launch of Tanzania's National Vision. He expressed his appreciation to the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in the United Republic of Tanzania for organizing this successful event, which brought together a select group of private sector representatives from both sides. He added that participants from the Tanzanian side were briefed on the experiences of several Omani companies operating in diverse sectors, including water solutions, cold storage, food industries, manufacturing, detergents, and other promising sectors. He emphasized that these meetings will contribute to building fruitful trade and investment partnerships that will benefit both countries and strengthen the economic cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Republic of Tanzania. Ambassador Johnny Olanga, Director of the Economic Diplomacy Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation with East Africa in the United Republic of Tanzania, emphasized that the bilateral meetings between business owners from the Sultanate of Oman and Tanzania represent an important step towards strengthening economic and trade relations between the two countries and opening new horizons for cooperation and investment. He explained that the organization of this forum by the Omani Products Promotion Supervisory Team (OPEX) coincides with its participation in the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (SABASA), which provided an important opportunity to hold direct meetings with their counterparts from the Tanzanian business sector to discuss ways to enhance Omani exports to the Tanzanian market, explore investment opportunities, and establish sustainable trade partnerships between the two sides. Abdul Abubakar Mwelima, Vice President of the Tanzanian National Chamber of Commerce for Industry, affirms that the Omani-Tanzanian Business Forum represents an important platform for enhancing economic cooperation between Omani and Tanzanian companies and building strategic partnerships that serve the interests of the private sector in both countries. It also provides a direct opportunity to meet with participating Omani companies and explore cooperation prospects in a number of promising sectors. He points out that about 20 Omani companies are participating in the forum, reflecting a growing interest in strengthening trade and investment relations with Tanzania, where there are significant opportunities for cooperation in the fields of manufacturing, plastics, agriculture, and food industries. Abdullah bin Hamoud Al Harthi, Head of Commercial Affairs at the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), stated that the bilateral meetings between Omani and Tanzanian business owners witnessed remarkable participation, reflecting the growing interest in strengthening economic and investment cooperation between the two sides and exploring partnership opportunities in various industrial sectors, including the establishment of industrial projects and factories in African markets . Al Harthi emphasized that the African market is among the most promising, given its growth and expansion potential. He noted that the bilateral meetings, held on the sidelines of the SabaSaba International Trade Fair, represent an important platform enabling Omani businesspeople to connect directly with their Tanzanian counterparts, explore export opportunities, establish commercial partnerships, and attract agents and distributors for Omani products in the Tanzanian market and neighboring markets . Al-Harthi expressed his hope that these meetings would result in sustainable trade and investment partnerships that would contribute to enhancing the presence of Omani products in African markets and increasing the volume of Omani exports in the coming period, stressing that Omani products enjoy growing confidence in the Tanzanian market thanks to their high quality and compliance with international specifications and standards .
During the forum, visual presentations were given by both the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates “Madayn” and the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, through which the two entities reviewed their strategic objectives, which are to attract quality investments, develop the industrial sector, support the growth of small and medium enterprises, increase the volume of Omani exports, and enhance economic diversification, in addition to highlighting the competitive advantages of the investment environment in the Sultanate of Oman. The presentations also included the most prominent incentives and facilities provided to investors and the private sector, which include the advanced infrastructure in the industrial cities, procedural facilities through the “one-stop shop” systems, investment incentives related to industrial activities, as well as the support programs provided by the concerned authorities to enable small and medium enterprises and facilitate their entry into the markets .
