Manama - The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) organized an executive dialogue session entitled "The Future of Skills in the Age of Artificial Intelligence" at the institute's headquarters, with the participation of more than 80 leaders and specialists in the financial sector.

The session addressed the impact of artificial intelligence on the nature of work and the skills required in the next stage, and its role in helping institutions improve work methods, increase productivity, and reduce the time spent on some administrative and repetitive tasks .

The program included a keynote session entitled “AI-Enhanced Workforce: Humans and Machines”, presented by Mr. Hamad Al-Fahad, an AI expert, in which he discussed a number of practical examples of how AI can be used in the workplace, and how employees can benefit from it to focus on more important and impactful tasks .

The heads of the educational centers at BIBF also reviewed the most prominent future trends in training and professional development, with a focus on the needs of the financial sector. Attendees participated in an interactive session through a live survey, aiming to gather their opinions on training and development priorities across various sectors. The results of this survey are expected to contribute to the development of the institute's training programs in line with the evolving needs of the business sectors in the Kingdom of Bahrain .

On this occasion, Dr. Ahmed Al-Sheikh, CEO of BIBF, said: “Artificial intelligence is no longer a future topic or an option far removed from institutions, but has become a key element in the work environment. What is most important today is how we use it in a way that raises the quality of work and saves time, without eliminating the role of humans. Through this session, we at BIBF are keen to listen to the needs of institutions and understand the skills that have become required today, so that we can continue to develop practical training programs that are close to the reality of the labor market.”

He added: "The institute continues to offer programs and initiatives that help individuals and institutions keep pace with changes in required skills, especially in areas related to digital transformation and competency development, and that support the readiness of personnel in vital sectors."

The session concluded with a professional networking segment, which allowed participants to exchange ideas and experiences about the future of jobs and the role of artificial intelligence in supporting more efficient and flexible work environments .
