Zawya - Press Releases: Red Hat AI platform in collaboration with Nvidia expands support for a new generation of enterprise self-agents

Red Hat Inc. , the world’s leading provider of open-source data solutions, announced a new advance to its Red Hat AI Factory with NVIDIA platform, which aims to accelerate enterprise adoption of AI technologies and long-running autonomous agents. The latest release delivers enhanced security capabilities for continuously running agents, along with ready-to-use solutions that help organizations move from testing to production more quickly and confidently.

This achievement is based on the consistent characteristics and integrated capabilities of the Red Hat AI Enterprise platform, along with the open models, advanced tools, and frameworks available within the NVIDIA AI Enterprise platform, to provide a unified and scalable architecture that supports the operation of proxy AI at the production level.

A safe operating environment for a new generation of self-agents

OpenShell is an open-source project founded by NVIDIA to provide an isolated operating environment for self-agents, giving organizations greater policy control, ensuring more secure tool use, and enabling auditable processes. The project manages how agents perform their tasks, what they can access, and how they route inferences, providing organizations with unified policies to control and monitor agent behavior.

A joint engineering effort is currently underway to integrate OpenShell with Red Hat's AI platform, enhancing infrastructure-level control and policy. Red Hat, a key contributor to the project, is also helping to establish standardized criteria for managing self-agents across hybrid cloud environments.

The dominance of artificial intelligence, security surveillance, and engineering through secret containers

In addition to software-driven governance, the Red Hat AI Platform in collaboration with NVIDIA enhances its reliability and policies at the hardware level through confidential computing technologies, designed to protect agents in operation even if another agent is compromised. Within the preview technology, users can run confidential containers using NVIDIA Confidential Computing as part of Red Hat OpenShift isolated containers.

The Zero Trust approach enhances this hardware-based protection by integrating features such as SELinux, FIPS compliance, and NVIDIA DOCA -based runtime protection. Through this security hierarchy, the platform helps organizations protect their critical assets in distributed environments and comply with evolving governance and security requirements, including modern regulatory frameworks such as the EU AI Act .

Unified lifecycle management and Model-as-a-Service framework

The Red Hat AI Platform in collaboration with NVIDIA includes a suite of innovations available in Red Hat AI 3.4 , including the new Models as a Service ( MaaS ) experience delivered via the Red Hat AI Gateway , which provides developers with simplified access to selected models, such as the NVIDIA Nemotron , through interfaces compatible with the OpenAI platform.

To enhance operational oversight, the platform integrates production-ready lifecycle management solutions based on MLflow , enabling complete tracking of large language model calls, tool implementations, and inference procedures. This unified architecture bridges the gap between development speed and operational stability, empowering organizations to scrutinize how an agent achieves a given outcome.

Enhanced support for Nvidia's Blackwell and Vera Rubin

Red Hat Enterprise Linux for NVIDIA, version 26.01, now publicly available, marks a significant step forward in Red Hat's commitment to supporting NVIDIA's architectures from day one. This initial release supports NVIDIA Blackwell, while the two companies continue to collaborate on future releases to support the upcoming NVIDIA Vera Rubin platform. Additionally, NVIDIA RN:AI, currently included in NVIDIA AI Enterprise, is now available to customers of the Red Hat AI Platform in collaboration with NVIDIA.

With this release, Red Hat strengthens the core infrastructure supporting the Red Hat AI Factory platform in collaboration with Nvidia, and this support will also extend to the entire Red Hat AI portfolio of solutions, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux AI, Red Hat OpenShift AI, and Red Hat Enterprise AI, thus accelerating the development of solutions on the latest AI architectures across hybrid cloud environments.

Enterprise AI application acceleration plans

Red Hat and NVIDIA offer jointly developed and validated NVIDIA AI blueprints and AI quickstart guides to accelerate time to value and simplify the deployment of complex AI paradigms. These validated blueprints provide practical guidance for technical teams on key use cases, including Models as a Service (MSS) to provide unified access to models via APIs, Enterprise Search to support high-speed semantic inference based on enterprise-owned data, and Enterprise Retrieval-enhanced generation and fine-tuning to enable agents to leverage enterprise-owned data using NVIDIA’s NeMo Retriever , along with Red Hat governance tools. Additional blueprints are currently under development as part of the platform’s ongoing roadmap.

Availability

Red Hat AI Factory updates in collaboration with Nvidia and version 3.4 of the Red Hat AI Platform are expected to be available later this month .

Customers can access the latest drivers and specialized releases of Red Hat Enterprise Linux for Nvidia through the Red Hat Customer Portal, while Red Hat AI Factory software in collaboration with Nvidia is already available.

Supportive comments

Chris Wright, Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Global Engineering at Red Hat:

"Moving AI from the experimental stage to becoming a core industrial driver requires a unified sovereign architecture across hybrid cloud environments. Through strategic co-development efforts with NVIDIA, Red Hat provides the ability to control the technology architecture along with open-source innovation, enabling organizations to confidently scale proxy AI . This approach also enables an enhanced zero-trust path that allows organizations to own their own intelligent ecosystem while maintaining their technological independence in an increasingly complex global landscape."

Justin Boitano, Vice President of Enterprise AI Platforms at Nvidia :

" Proxy AI represents a paradigm shift in enterprise operations. Every company will need an AI factory to build, deploy, and govern digital workers at scale . In this context, Red Hat and NVIDIA are jointly developing the Red Hat AI Factory platform, combining NVIDIA Open Shell, NVIDIA Confidential Computing, and the entire AI ecosystem, enabling organizations to run the most complex proxy AI workloads in a secure and reliable manner."
