Dubai, United Arab Emirates: DP World hosted a high-level delegation from the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones in the sisterly Sultanate of Oman, to review the latest developments and progress made in the Al Rawdah Special Economic Zone project, and to discuss the next phases .
The visiting delegation was headed by His Excellency Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones in the Sultanate of Oman, and was received by His Excellency Essa Kazim, Chairman of the Board of Directors of DP World Group, along with the Group’s CEO, Yuvraj Narayan, and a number of senior DP World leaders in the GCC region, including CEO and General Manager Ahmed Yousef Al Hassan .
The delegation held meetings in Dubai, and the visit extended to include the site of the Al Rawdah Special Economic Zone in the Wilayat of Mahdah in the Al Buraimi Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman, where the discussions addressed the latest stages and achievements in the project, as well as updates on infrastructure development .
His Excellency Essa Kazim, Chairman of DP World Group, said: “ The Al Rawdah Special Economic Zone will contribute to enhancing the investment climate, driving industrial growth, and strengthening regional supply chains. His Excellency Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones in the Sultanate of Oman, said : “The Al Rawdah Special Economic Zone represents a strategic project that reflects the strength of the economic relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Arab Emirates. Our discussions with DP World have allowed us to learn about successful practical models for enhancing the competitiveness of economic zones, supporting supply chains, and attracting quality investments. We look forward to continuing the momentum in developing Al Rawdah to be a leading competitive platform for growth and investment.”
The Al Rawdah Special Economic Zone is located near the UAE-Oman border and enjoys direct links to both Sohar Port and Jebel Ali Port. The zone aims to attract investments in the logistics, warehousing, light manufacturing, food processing, pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, plastics, mining, and industrial services sectors, supporting the industrial objectives of Dubai's D33 economic agenda and Oman Vision 2040 .
