In response to a question about the details of the two funds expected to be launched, Zidan said: "One tracks the EGX 30 capped index, and one tracks the EGX100 index," according to Zidan.
The company is awaiting approval from the Financial Regulatory Authority to launch the two funds, according to Zidan, who expects the launch to take place during the current quarter with a value of 100 million pounds (about 2 million dollars) for each.
The company is also expected to launch two metals investment funds and a capital protection fund—both of which it had previously announced its intention to launch —during the fourth quarter of this year. A capital protection fund is a fund that invests in equities as well as fixed-income instruments.
