Basra Oil Company signs agreement with Chevron to evaluate West Qurna 2 field
July 1 (Reuters) - Iraq's oil ministry said on Wednesday that Basra Oil Company signed a non-disclosure agreement with U.S. energy firm Chevron to regulate data exchanges aimed at evaluating the West Qurna 2 oil field and paving the way for future partnership talks.
In February, Chevron entered into exclusive negotiations with Iraq regarding the giant West Qurna 2 oil field, moving closer to acquiring the field from sanctioned Russian oil company Lukoil.
