International Energy Agency Director: Energy crisis will drive the shift to electricity
LONDON, June 22 (Reuters) - The International Energy Agency's chief, Fatih Birol, said on Monday that Iran's energy crisis will accelerate the global shift to electricity as countries seek to bolster their energy security and protect themselves from volatile fossil fuel prices.
“Many governments are reviewing their energy strategies, policies, partnerships and technology options, and I expect this crisis to give an additional boost to the transition to electricity,” Birol added during the Octopus Energy Tech Summit held as part of Climate Action Week in London.
