- Elon Musk and the chief executives of Apple, Tim Cook, GE Aerospace, Larry Culp and Boeing, Kelly Ortberg, will join U.S. President Donald Trump on his visit to China this week, a White House official told Reuters.

The official added that other participants included Dina Powell McCormick of Meta, Larry Fink of BlackRock, Stephen Schwarzman of Blackstone, Chuck Robbins of Cisco, Sanjay Mehrota of Micron, Michael Maybach of Mastercard, Cristiano Amon of Qualcomm, and Ryan McInerney of Visa.

Ortberg told Reuters in April that Boeing was counting on the Trump administration to help secure a long-awaited large order from China.

Sources in the aircraft manufacturing sector say that China and the American aircraft manufacturer are engaged in lengthy talks to reach an agreement that could include 500 Boeing 737 Max aircraft, in addition to dozens of wide-body aircraft powered by GE Aerospace engines.

If this order goes through, it would be China's first major purchase from Boeing since 2017, and any announcement of the deal would be a major victory for the summit between the two presidents. It could also represent the largest single aircraft order in the history of the aviation industry.

A source familiar with the matter said on Monday that Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang will not accompany Trump on his visit to Beijing.

The source added that Huang was not invited to the visit, as the White House is focusing more on agriculture and commercial aviation issues, such as Boeing aircraft orders, during this trip. The White House has not yet responded to a request for comment.
