Introduction 1-Trump: Iran informed America that it would not impose fees for crossing the Strait of Hormuz

To add details and background

- U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that Iran had informed the United States that it would not impose any fees on ships crossing the Strait of Hormuz.

The two countries, which concluded a first round of negotiations in Switzerland on Monday, offered conflicting accounts of key provisions of the framework agreement signed last week aimed at ending the war, including financial incentives for Iran, the issue of control over the Strait of Hormuz, and Israel’s war in Lebanon.

Trump is facing criticism at home over the deal, including from hardliners in his own Republican Party.

Trump wrote in a social media post, "Iran has informed the United States that, contrary to the misleading false news being spread by the media, Iran has not requested or received any fees, insurance costs, or any other kind of charges from ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz."

He added, "If this information is wrong, the negotiations will end immediately!"
