July 9 (Reuters) - Meta Platforms launched on Thursday its long-awaited developer access to its Muse Spark AI model along with an enhanced version, putting it directly in direct competition with Anthropic and OpenAI's business models of charging for the use of their AI tools.
Meta promoted the Muse Spark 1.1 model as its most software-efficient model for real-world and automated tasks, and it comes as part of a broader mission promoted by the company to deliver "super-intelligent personal use".
Meta said that the advantages of the improved model include writing and debugging code, as well as using external programs and tools, understanding texts, images and videos, in addition to performing complex multi-step tasks that require less human intervention.
Meta unveiled Muse Spark in April, the first AI text and inference model from the super-intelligence team it formed last year to close the gap in fierce competition with rival companies for dominance in the field of artificial intelligence.
Meta tested the API with its partners in a private demonstration during the launch. The API is an indispensable component of artificial intelligence systems; it acts as a digital bridge for developers, enabling them to leverage the model's capabilities within their own software systems.
